I have multiple Dell laptops that are happy with half a dozen different USB-C power adapters and/or docks. USB-C charging is a well documented standard. If they instead start denying warranty claims it's likely to be a class action lawsuit. I hope Apple gets so many warranty claims they're forced to fix this issue. I could see using a super cheap Chinese no-name charger possibly being an issue but Apple is the one to blame here for catastrophically failing even when using a name brand third party charger or dock. My laptop went completely unresponsive and lost all my data (thank god I backup everything). This was not the first time I used this charger and I find it hard to believe it is at fault. iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch wallpapers.Ī few weeks ago I started charging my new Macbook Air M1 with an Aukey USB-C charger and it died instantly. These belong in the beta subreddits listed below.
